The oldest item we’ve sold is an original 1871 Baseball Player Rule Book. This rare piece dates back to the early organized era of professional baseball, shortly after the founding of the National Association. Rule books from this period are extremely scarce and offer a fascinating look into how the game was played before modern regulations were fully established.

Despite its age, the book remained in remarkable condition with legible print, intact binding, and minimal wear—making it an extraordinary historical artifact.

We had a very RARE Outer Seam Laced basketball which dates from 1900 to 1920 era laced basketball. This style basketball, with the extruded seams, is an extremely rare version. The purpose of the exposed seams was to allow the basketball to be used outdoors and last longer. It resulted in the balls being used very hard and in rough conditions therefore the remaining examples are few. This example is made of chocolate brown, suede leather, and exhibits a modest amount of users leaving the basketball with an ideal vintage patina! A great addition to any vintage basketball collection!

The oldest football we’ve sold is an early 1900 melon-style football. This rare, elongated style ball reflects the transitional era of early American football—before the modern rounded shape became standard. Collectors value these early examples because they represent the roots of the sport during its formative college and early professional years.

Despite its age, the leather remained remarkably well-preserved with strong stitching and a rich patina that showcased decades of history.
